Today got the new Power Supply and the Computer is back to run. Welcome back Axel.....did you get a PSU with the lifetime warranty? I have bought lots over the years but they are all lifetime so one time I had one die I got it replaced for free. I got 750watt and 850watt PSU's just so I can use one to give the power to the video cards in pc's sitting next to them with the stock 300watt PSU's So 4 of those PSU's can run the video cards in 8 separate computers. Be a Corsair fan, Wanted RM450 (have this in two of my Computer). This one is at the end of lifetime for Corsair in production, so got a SF450. The old one was a Cougar A 400 (Seven years old). This PC is the first APU-A8 from AMD with at the moment 1.3 Million points in LHCatHome. So this new PSU live longer than the PC, I think. The Graphic-Cards are all from AMD and need not so much power. A-8 and A-10 have Graphic included on the Processor. Your idea with the PSU for more than one Computer is a good idea! Have only three PC's and one HomeServer from HP. The most power for LHC are the Linux native VM's from SL for Atlas on this PC's. Saw docker software from 18/1/11 in -dev under applications. Maybe David will tell us, for what this is useful. Is in preferences of LHC-dev also and in the software web-site it is shown. |

Be a Corsair fan, Wanted RM450 (have this in two of my Computer). I have had Corsair before but all the ones I have been using for my GeForce cards for Einstein GPU tasks are the Ultra X4 750 watt and 850 watt and I got them on sale a few years ago for around $100 each (all of mine are HP that I got on sales with fast 8-cores each amd I just change the PSU and plug in GeForce cards I also got on sale (except I got the GeForce 660Ti SC when it was new so it was about $300) http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/ultra-x4-850-w-power-supply-review/ We have had those ATLAS simulation in a Docker container on the Alpha list for a while but haven't got to test them yet but have tested the ATLAS Simulation using checkpointing. I think David may have tried it with his Linux OS Mad Scientist For Life |

This WU doesn't startup, it is sitting for 6 hours at this point: I saw one of mine doing that but after about 30 minutes I just aborted it so I could replace it with a running task. |

0.51 has been a pain in the.......computer for me lately and a long one. (no problems at the public LHC but this same problem with the Alpha tests with the Atlas tasks but that might be another reason) Mad Scientist For Life |

https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/result.php?resultid=614563 Well maybe I should just leave the house for a couple hours and it will turn itself in when I'm not watching. Came home and check and it is finally gone.....was worried that it just crashed after 39hrs 26mins 55secs THAT is not the typical Atlas task but I have had at least 2 of those now. (no comment on the Atlas-Alpha I have still running on 100%) Maybe I will see if another task will run in the normal couple hours. |
