And some goofball down the highway from me let their leprechaun balloons fly up into the power lines and a couple thousand of us lost power.

BUT I am the only human around here running 10 computers for Cern (and one for Einstein)

So all of them running all the cores got the instant shutdown

We happened to all be sitting outside with our oldest son (log truck driver) and the wife and grandkids who are over here from Idaho so he can get some logging work since global freezing made it impossible to drive log trucks on the road there (illegal)

So he will work in the NW of the Olympic Peninsula for a month or two.

We heard a loud BOOM off in the distance and here we are used to hearing power transformers explode when they short out (car wrecks, trees falling, land slides, squirrels and birds trying to make a nest on the main transformers)

BUT didn't know my power was out until I took the grand-son upstairs to see my computers and sort of tell him what I am doing........first thing was it was HOT up there AND I see the window fan was not running so I go over to check it and then see all my pc's were just sitting there

I did get to this laptop before the battery was dead so I suspended everything and shut it down.........but I have another new laptop I just got sitting in my bedroom and when I got there it was already off with a dead battery.
Well both laptops are back up again and for some reason I got lucky and all the tasks came back to life.........as some may know the VB tasks usually don't like being turned off like that.

One is also testing running the Einstein GPU tasks using this new Ryzen cpu ( you know who talked me into trying the new Ryzen) and of course LHC-dev work.

NOW........well I better go upstairs and fire up the other 8 desktops and see how many Cern tasks will crash on me and lose all the hours of crunching.

Satellite dishes are back up.......isp and tv.......(watching a program called *Expedition Unknown*)
(man can not survive without electricity)

.....please work desktops........

Well 9 of 10 booted back up and most of the tasks running from where they were before the power went out,

Only about 4 of all those tasks started running at 0% progress but with the same elapsed time as before.

The only one that still runs a Geforce card for Einstein and LHC Theory is having problems booting (did this once before when the power went out like this) and has been running *startup repair* Windows 7 and I hope it hurries up and boots back up since I rather not do another clean install of the OS
