Development for LHC@home

On this task and several others, I get an error at VM launch about "login service" and "Authorization manager"
After trying a few times, the vm closed by itself and then the task still run.
CMS tasks are working.

That is a strange RDC but these tasks can do strange things once in a while and you only have run that one.
I must say I have done thousands of tests for Cern VB BUT I have never tried running a 16-core task

The most I ever tried was 8-core and that was alpha testing Atlas

You do have probably enough ram BUT you should try running some of these using 2-core or even single-core tasks and not use all 16 logical processors.

Maybe start one that way and watch the RDC and see if it does that again and if not fire up some more of the single or double core tasks.

Success with a task on 8 cpu. :-)
So I blocked CPU max to 8 on preferences.

But I remember having the same issue with cosmology@, tasks failing on more than 8 cpus.
