Reminds me of the first time I saw it in the flesh, at a Christmas party in the assembly hall. Sorta like Spencer Tracy in the film version of Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea":
Fisherman: It can't be that big!
Narrator: But it was...

Well this is as close to the CMS as I get BUT I have seen that movie several times.

Spencer Tracy and that kid are the main characters and I never noticed that Harry Bellaver had a small part in the movie and I still see him every saturday night on the old tv show that started a couple years after that movie (The Naked City)

The Old Man and the Sea movie was born the same year as I was (1958)

I think I will have to watch it again next time I find it on.

Yeah everything about the LHC is HUGE especially if you stand near something like the CMS

Guess they must end up with a huge bucket of spare nuts/bolts/washers/screws whenever they take it apart for maintenance ;-)

Just like when the wife tries to get me to repair the vacuum cleaner after she takes it apart
