That something that has been running since 2011 still can't be trusted to run on its own and end up Valid I have run 10's of thousands of these over the years and I had less trouble in 2011 |

I hear you. I only run Theory natives in VM's atm, with an occasional 'long runner'. I have trouble with the Virtualbox ones (The fact that they take so long doesn't help) Theory natives are the only workunit, aside from sixtrack, that validates on my machines. I kind of miss the multicore CMS on production. They ran flawlessly, for me anyways. Might just stick to the main site if/when I hit 10 million points here. We'll see. |

YES I agree about the CMS project returning here and over at LHC and I talk to Ivan about this and I know he wishes it would come back to life. I will be switching to those the day it returns. When you have those long runners are they all *sherpa* ?? I don't trust those these days and don't like wasting hours on my monthly high-speed isp since 3 weeks is about the longest as I can get it to run with the VB tasks. So I watch every task start on the Console so I know in 3mins or less if it is a *sherpa* and give it the Abort boot. I ran out of high-speed a couple days ago so now I have to carefully get these Theory-devs to start up and most of the time after midnight and it takes about 2 hours to get all my cores running......I have to get them running on each pc and then suspend them and do the same on the next pc until I get the 5 pc's running these here (almost finished my thousands of Sixtracks for almost nothing as far as Credits compared to Atlas and it takes forever to add a million running Sixtracks over there) I hardly get any sleep since the wife wakes me up every morning after me being awake until as late as 5am And since Spring is here I have lots of projects to work on outside here (after doing things on the property for the last 35 years) Hell I planned on getting things done so when I was an old timer things would be easy......well they're not. I don't mind this "staying at home" stuff since I do that anyway but would like to go to the store and get things.......and the only good thing about not being able to go to the bowling alley every monday is I saved enough cash to pay my property taxes without having to dig into my stash Two of my older quad-cores are taking a nap now since the Sixtracks are done and it would take all day to d/l the Theory for here and of course the extra internet speed problem with the Dish......and I have 2 other old beasts running Einstein GPU's just to keep adding to my stats with the old 550Ti in the ancient 3-core X86 XP Pro using my original disc from when I did Microsoft testing way back in 1999 and a 660Ti SC that was the newest back when I first started running it and it is actually hard to believe it has been running 24/7 for many years now and beyond the warranty on an older quad still running Win 7 Sunny warm day here and I have the window open where the main fan is to cool down this room where all the desktops are. For some reason all these pc's I built myself just keep on running and I remember back in the early days buying pc's from TigerDirect and those damn things would alway die young since they would use stuff like $10 fans and crappy PSU's I better get out and refill the Hummingbird feeders since I have over 100 of those flying pigs and 15 of the 30oz feeders only last ONE day.....200lbs of sugar every year. Hope all is well up north Wes and I see you finally caught me in the Theory stats here (they used to tell me I would never be caught here but then they didn't know about the Threadrippers of the future) I think I had close to 7 million more back in the T4T days of 2011 -2017) and still have all those pc's running....Congrats.....I knew you would do that easily and.....well nobody can catch our 2 man team here here |

I don't think I would have any hair left if I had your internet connection. Your dedication to this project is admirable. |

Well Wes I think if all my hair fell out that would end my dedication for sure An example of how I do this on each pc and then start them back up to run all of them. |

Going to take 2 weeks off and participate in the boinc Pentathlon. Once it's over, I'll throw the 3950x on here and crunch some theory natives. Looks to be around 40k-ish ppd. Crazy for how little power its draws. See you then |

I sure wish they would have me testing Natives on Windows over here instead of doing their Linux commercials all the time since 9 years of VB didn't get any better. (or even use the Alpha site since it has been doing nothing over a year now) I'm sure you will do a good job over at the boinc Pentathlon Yeah it is amazing how we are getting higher speed and more cores using less power and I didn't expect the less power part. Keep up the good work Wes and have fun. |
