For the last 2 days when I check my account here it says I have 23 in progress on two hosts BUT I actually don't have any at all. I haven't asked for more and don't have any waiting on any of my hosts right now. The last 2 days I have been running only Sixtracks and am waiting for all to be finished before I run more here. I can't even just abort them since they don't exist on the 2 hosts the account claims they are on. https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1866 https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/show_host_detail.php?hostid=3792 No big deal and I guess when the deadline happens they will disappear. |

24,000 credits for a 19 hour task That would get lots of gridcoin hosts on the public page. Mad Scientist For Life |

Even worse: 36600 credits for another 19 h task. It clearly points out how bad BOINC deals with those multicore apps. Credits are just one side of the medal. More relevant is the fact that the initial estimated runtime of a task is calculated by the same formulas. At the end the machines will pull lots of work although they have no chance to finish it. The more cores a machine reports the worse it becomes. |

YES that would get every bitcoin group to LHC Its funny the way it has always worked. The most cores I ever ran on a single task was 8 and I never got much Credit and 1 or 2 cores would get more but that was doing Atlas Alpha testing and over here and at the public version I never used more than 2 cores per task and I think those were for CMS I always like the long tasks but also didn't mind some Credits ......not sure why......I guess that keeps a cruncher crunching. Just my luck.......I had some high-speed so I d/l a new version of VB w/ EP and then I see 201 tasks in the server. Won't even give me one >:- ( I'm in between Zoom meetings and hoped to run a Theory on this one.......but I have a few Sixtracks to run so......... Mad Scientist For Life |

Well this has happened before a few times but this is the first time I got 5 invisible tasks on on host. The server says I have them but I never got them. I had run 8 Theory a couple days ago on the 8 thread host but at the same time the server claimed I also had these other 5 Theory tasks. So like before they will sit there waiting for the due date and get that Timed out - no response No big deal but I never have liked getting any Errors https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/results.php?hostid=1866 |

It happened to me last October, but not with Theory, but with 5 Xtrack beam simulations. Yes my previous ones were a while ago too and just taking a quick look I had a CMS do that once in January and another one last November and I know it happened before that last year too and I see I got a batch of 8 Theory doing this back in May 2020, ( I do like that the tasks of the past are saved here unlike production) |
