Thanks to computezrmle there is a new VirtualBox wrapper available which takes advantage of "differencing images". See details here: https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/4602

v1.10 for Windows is using this new wrapper, so please test it out and give feedback!

Here are several more (no more to run here from the server)
They don't run long so it is either short for testing or just not doing anything other than the new wrapper

( HITS file was successfully produced)

Thanks for the feedback! The tasks here are very short, just simulating a couple of events instead of 200 on the production server.

One thing you should notice is that the start up time is faster since there is no copy of the vdi image to the tasks working area.

A great improvement not to copy the whole vdi-file to the slot directory, but to create a difference file in the snapshot directory.
This file is much smaller than the project's vdi file and slowly increasing in size during runtime (600MB)
I suspended my task a few times and a 2100MB sav-file was created and destroyed after resuming the task.

Do you have a Proxy active in Boinc?

Reset project may solve it?

I suppose, it's a server issue.

It would be helpful to make your computers visible for other volunteers.

CP already mentioned the ATLAS download errors might have been server side issues.
This can be verified if you follow the links from your computer details page to the WU details.
Examples:

Now seems to be solved.
A PM from Magic Quantum Mechanic suggested me to update my VirtualBox.
I did it, and now i'm running correctly the Atlas wus.
I don't know if the two things are related....
