What a bunch of clowns! I have over 700 tasks that will never get validated!
You shouldn't run Develop-Projects if you think so

Whelp F this if they're going to delete work. I had completed what I wanted to but was running what I had left so others could validate but the admins said no to that.

Tasks are being dumped on prod too. Its one of the worst things an admin can do IMO.

Even on the prod site Xtrack is clearly marked as beta app which needs explicit opt-in.
Cancelling a whole batch may be necessary to avoid badly configured tasks hang around for a long time.

Beta apps always need close monitoring by the user and it would be a good idea to start with a small buffer of few tasks instead of many hundreds.

If anybody can't deal with it, disable beta apps and wait for a stable version.

User accept no Beta in Production.
There is some support for this definition of B E T A needed.

There's a clear definition here:
https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/wiki/AppVersion
https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/wiki/BetaTest

Apps on the dev site are always beta.
Xtrack on prod is clearly marked as beta test here:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/apps.php

To get beta tasks it must be enabled here:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/prefs.php?subset=project

From LHC forum, today Laurence (an LHC@home admin) about XBoinc app:

Even if an application appears solid in the development project, the production project is a different environment, running at scale. Labeling the application as beta reflects that difference and is intended to set expectations. It also allows volunteers who want to focus solely on crunching, without engaging in the development process, to do so.

We very much value those who do choose to test beta applications and provide feedback, even knowing they may not receive credit for failures. All feedback we receive is appreciated and acknowledged by the whole community.

Hmm When I look at the top of this site it says Development for LHC. Beta should be here, not there. Changes were made between Dev and Prod and tasks were deleted off both instead of introducing new tasks here with the changes.
