I see Ivan has about 5 in a row of these running multi on the same Win 10 as I am running but mine so far stopped getting them so the last 6 of mine are back to single core when running all 8 cores (I have never changed that setting since last year at this time)
Since that is what I run here I will just load up more and let them run.

I see Mikey got one on Linux

Toby couple on another Linux version with a Threadripper

Didn't see any on those "hidden computers"

Well I got 3 of those that actually had more CPU time than run time but my next 3 went back to how they have been for the entire year and I see Ivan also had several of these using 4 cores and I had 8 cores running per task and I saw a couple more by other members.

I will continue running them and see what happens.

Well this is the first time I saw a CMS multi do this.
https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/result.php?resultid=3280035

Run time 17 hours 47 min 11 sec
CPU time 2 days 16 hours 5 min 45 sec
Validate state Valid
Credit 579.47
60.70 (vbox64_mt_mcore_cms)
I had another one running at the same time but it was just the way they have been since we started these a year ago.

You must have got all of the next batch because I can't get any and you got lots of them.
Are they still running? and how many do you have running at the same time??
Running is sure better than crashing in a few seconds.

This is the previous version but I remember those running for 30 hours on mine

Or lots of tasks that get checked once before sending out 100 of those internet eaters
Since we had all those Xtrack threads here I figured the members here who do check the threads would have noticed my new thread........but as usual....
Switched back to CMS

OK what is going on with these new tasks??

https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/result.php?resultid=3270463
Exit status -226 (0xFFFFFF1E) ERR_TOO_MANY_EXITS

Looks like we need to suspend these since they don't run like the previous batch.

well that took a big bite out of my monthly isp data transfer total

I've read this pdf (and the others) some days ago.
Waiting for new app and wus!!

Well I posted that quick look at the one pdf for anyone else that might want to read that since there are many many that you have to go through just to see that one.

BUT there is no reason why you boboviz can't run the many other tasks that are always here and the main reason you are even here.

We have -dev here for a reason and not only for what may eventually happen.
I never take a day off and I have been doing this every day for 19 years,

Have you ever checked the *running log* on these tasks after they have run longer than 18 hours or more?
There you can see if they are actually doing anything and if not abort them instead of wasting days.

I have mentioned this many times over the years but here is one from last month

Be with you, but hope need to change the script for the future.
Every Theory task which fail is too much.

I almost mentioned something else yesterday but just decided to delete it.

I was going to mention how once again the server says I have 8 Theory tasks on one of my hosts here but in fact have ZERO tasks here right now.......it has happened before but it was only one task or two at a time so seeing 8 of them was a surprise.
So they will just stay there until the server says "Timed out - no response"

It really doesn't matter to me but those tasks must be some where in the Universe
So I will wait for some update to happen

I don't like these......after all these years we still get tasks that have failed yet they keep on running for hours until you just happen to check them to see how they are doing and these of course never have a *running log*

I pretty much have watched EVERY one load and with Theory all the way to where it tells us what event generator it has and then after an hour or two check to see if it started having a running log just to make sure.
And you know we have members running so many threads that they never waste their time checking every one to see if this happens. ᵃⁿᵈ ᴵ ᵈᵒⁿ'ᵗ ʷᵃⁿᵗ ᵗᵒ ʰᵉᵃʳ ᵃⁿʸ ˢqᵘⁱᵈ ᵗᵃˡᵏ ᵃᵇᵒᵘᵗ ᵗʰⁱˢ and actually just saying it and don't need a reply other than these should always be auto-aborted when they fail

Run time 2 days 7 hours 18 min 40 sec
CPU time 2 days 5 hours 34 min 33 sec

And being able to check the running logs makes it easy to see that it actually running.

I see that is a Windows 11 laptop and I have one doing that too so I gave up and just use it for Einstein GPU's
I checked the Bios on mine about 20 times and it refuses to work.
I have had the same issue and rather than continuing to tear my hair out I too run Einstein jobs.

Funny you would say that....I did the same thing with my 16 thread 16GB ram with Windows 11
It refuses to work no matter how many tries BUT it sure loves running Einstein GPU's 24/7 all this year.

Looks like a server side and maybe because it was one you got on June 27th since the next ones on July 3rd worked and were sent back.
Yours was "HITS file was successfully produced" and upload failure does happen once in a while.
Atlas can be that way with these short tasks.

No problems with Theory or CMS
