Cpu does not support Virtualization
(Message 8130)
Posted 31 Jul 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: I see that is a Windows 11 laptop and I have one doing that too so I gave up and just use it for Einstein GPU's Funny you would say that....I did the same thing with my 16 thread 16GB ram with Windows 11 It refuses to work no matter how many tries BUT it sure loves running Einstein GPU's 24/7 all this year. |

Uploads failing
(Message 8116)
Posted 3 Jul 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: Looks like a server side and maybe because it was one you got on June 27th since the next ones on July 3rd worked and were sent back. Yours was "HITS file was successfully produced" and upload failure does happen once in a while. Atlas can be that way with these short tasks. No problems with Theory or CMS |

Posted 29 Jun 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/show_host_detail.php?hostid=4561 I see that is a Windows 11 laptop and I have one doing that too so I gave up and just use it for Einstein GPU's I checked the Bios on mine about 20 times and it refuses to work. Have you checked the Bios on yours? Mine will say it is enabled in the Task Manager but not with Speccy and not on my .... https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/show_host_detail.php?hostid=4786 But if I look up my CPU (google) it says it does run VB) |

That is about right since the run time and CPU time are around 33 hours. As far as them running at 100% that is how the tend to run but I wouldn't let one run like that for over 45 hours total. I would abort if they did that and last time I got some to run I watched the CPU to see if it even seemed to be doing anything. So far that worked BUT I haven't been able to get any more since I only got 4 and then all the rest were taken......which is too bad since I run them as fast as possible and turn them in so we don't have to wait for weeks. But I did see a strange one that ran for 19 hours and got 1.27 Credit |

Posted 9 Jun 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: I ran the 4 single core version tasks Wish I would have got more to run since as usual there are none left so since this is on my 16 thread host I already changed the setting to get no limit and single core. |

Posted 8 Jun 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: I am pretty sure they jump to 100% after around 3 hours and then run to 40 hours before turning them in Valid but on Windows give you 0 credits. But I will know for sure tonight since I have 4 running that way on a Win 11 host It did call that one "Validate state Initial" with 0 credit after 40 hours. ( I am pretty sure it just said Valid the first time I looked) Mine are at 24hrs right now. |

Posted 7 Jun 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: I finally got 4 of them and was wondering if they were going to work on Windows 11 since the run time says less than an hour but yours looks good Toby so I will let mine keep running since it is just 4 extra threads I have on a 16 thread machine I use mainly for Einstein GPU's Here is yours for almost 40 hours https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/result.php?resultid=3218544 |

Credits are still
(Message 8079)
Posted 28 May 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: Ridiculous as ever after all these decades (haven't check production yet) Seems like if I ever check I will see it and it never happens to me. My CMS are pretty much always the same at around 575 each running for average 13hrs 30mins But a quick look I see other finished CMS on basically the same OS and CPU run for 4 or 5 hours and get 2000 to 3000 credits each. If you could guarantee that all the time we would get 100 new members here and at production. |

Tasks or no Tasks
(Message 8076)
Posted 15 May 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: It happened to me last October, but not with Theory, but with 5 Xtrack beam simulations. Yes my previous ones were a while ago too and just taking a quick look I had a CMS do that once in January and another one last November and I know it happened before that last year too and I see I got a batch of 8 Theory doing this back in May 2020, ( I do like that the tasks of the past are saved here unlike production) |

Tasks or no Tasks
(Message 8074)
Posted 14 May 2023 by Magic Quantum Mechanic Post: Well this has happened before a few times but this is the first time I got 5 invisible tasks on on host. The server says I have them but I never got them. I had run 8 Theory a couple days ago on the 8 thread host but at the same time the server claimed I also had these other 5 Theory tasks. So like before they will sit there waiting for the due date and get that Timed out - no response No big deal but I never have liked getting any Errors https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/results.php?hostid=1866 |
