The development project has been upgraded to use the latest BOINC upstream code. Thus, it now has a new look based on Bootstrap in accordance with other projects like SETI@home. Your feedback and suggestions are, as always, appreciated. |

Things look fine here (I have been a Cern member since SixTracks started and I left Seti Classic and haven't seen the current version) Do you plan on bringing the Profile pages back to life in the near future here? I like to have mine just in case I want to save something here so I don't have to dig through millions of files. Such as....... https://tinyurl.com/runningFastBenchmark Mad Scientist For Life |

Site looks a lot better - but my main complaint since the beginning has NOT been addressed. That is a notice and explanation on the "join" page saying that a) VirtualBox is required for this project, and b) a CONTINUOUS network connection is required as there will be network traffic flowing the entire time a work unit is running. These two factors will turn away a large number of potential crunchers - but it will be before they learn it the hard way and leave pissed off at the project for failing to communicate these requirements up front. Plus there is still NO explanation for the "badges" that magically appeared on our profiles, in my case in spite of my never doing a single work unit for the subproject the badge appears to be for. So, plus one for getting the web code "up to standard", and minus 100 for still failing to put the MINIMUM effort into communicating with your potential volunteers. Then ANOTHER minus 100 because the stats sites STILL show lhcathome-dev as being "offline". You haven't fixed whatever is causing that, and have known about it for months. |

Hi Bill, there is a possibility to let Sixtrack run without Virtualbox. The priority for the developers are not badges for the moment. So, take a break. |

In Menu under Jobs all Projects (Atlas, CMS, LHCb and Theory) in pull down Menu is a good idea. |

Is it possible to activate the processor-stats: https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/cpu_list.php In production LHCatHome it is active. Thank you. |

It should be working now. It was not actually broken before but it was set to display only CPUs with more than 10 active hosts using them. Since the numbers here are not as high as on the prod server nothing was displaying. It is now set to display even CPUs with one active host. I am not sure I understand the dropdown menu suggestion. Could you please clarify? Thanks for taking the time to make suggestions. They are very appreciated. Cheers, Nikolas |

The CPU-stats works now, thank you. Is it possible to sort the fields of this stat? It was the wrong word for the selected Job-Field, sorry. Don't know the right name therefor. |

It is actually sorted by GFLOPS/core. |

Will this also in Production be reduced to ONE active Host? Thank you. |

No, in production the numbers are much higher so the noise would be too much. If there is enough interest we could develop a paginated page and show every cpu. |

Thanks for your answer. This would be a good idea. Hope we find in this forum some volunteers for this idea, because the CPU's with the Hardware is doing the most work ;-)). |

Hi Bill, Please note that this is a development project so the working assumption should be that it is broken. As we have to prioritize our effort, things may not get fixed in a timely manner. If you prefer a working stable project, you may prefer the production project. The join page has reverted to the default one with the new Web theme. We anticipate that most users will arrive via our main portal. We should probably change this menu link to point to this page.
The message when my mouse is hovering over the icon is "Joined ATLAS for over 360 days". These are ATLAS badges so I would suggest that you ask questions about these in the ATLAS topic of the production project.
Which stats site is reporting it as being "offline"? We have no control over an external stats site. Cheers, Laurence |

To make the issue of VM apps clearer, we have updated the "Terms of use" for this project, and the link on the front page. |

I am not ON the production project. Never joined. Badge is HERE. Never did any ATLAS tasks here (or there, or anywhere). Thus the confusion on having a badge, on a project that doesn't appear to even GIVE badges, and then it's one for a subproject that I've never worked on. Unless badges have been implemented here with zero notice and zero explanation, there should be NO badges. I suspect something (badge stuff) got copied over from production, I'd been here over a year, it automatically assumed I needed a badge. I don't care one way or another if a project gives badges (although there was discussion HERE way back on giving badges for different types of help), but if a badge is going to show up, it ought to at least be a correct one. I'd expect one for CMS, since that's where I've done 5000 hrs work.
BoincStats.com - for a long time, the stats XML was not being properly exported from here. I THINK that part is fixed here, but they still show 'offline'. It could be on their end, pinging an invalid URL since the change; I think Willy gave up and assumed this project was dead when the XML didn't update for months, he may have just never looked again. Bok runs FreeDC - he doesn't have a "project status" AFAIK, but his thread "Credit Per App statistics" still hasn't been fixed, either, no subproject data at any stats site, so you aren't getting ALL the xml out correctly. |

To make the issue of VM apps clearer, we have updated the "Terms of use" for this project, and the link on the front page. There is now a mention of VM on the home page, but not on https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/join.php - which also mentions 'selecting project from the list', but DEV is not ON the list... Nothing about requiring an "always on" internet connection and unlimited bandwidth, which eliminates more volunteers than VBox does. I can't find any "Terms of use" anywhere. |

Since 17/10/26 there is no transfer of statistics for boincstats.com etc. |

I do not see an issue on boincstats. If there is one, the site managers should be contacted. |

I do not see an issue on boincstats. If there is one, the site managers should be contacted. If you click on the "Credit Overview" or "Last 40 Days" or "Overview" tabs on that page, you will see that LHC-dev has not exported the xml files since the date mentioned. This is the SAME recurring problem that has been referenced in any number of other threads. The project - your end - is simply not providing the information - something is messed up in your site configuration. Again. That's what we keep trying to tell you! I just pulled the xml file myself from your site - it is EMPTY. Just a list of users, no credit data. |
