Why doesn't the Show VM Console button appear ? Does that mean a job hasn't really got started ? CPU time is still clicking along at a fast rate so they aren't idling. It was (still is) there for the first 46.17 job I started but doesn't appear on any of the other boxes that are now running 46.17 jobs. Is there some other reliable way of knowing they are working. I can look at the Show Graphics option but which file is the key one ? |

If the show VM Console button does not appear this suggests that there is a problem with the virtual box installation. I had this problem previously with and Ubuntu packaged version. The rdesktop client was missing. |

There should now be lots more logs available via the graphics. |

If the show VM Console button does not appear this suggests that there is a problem with the virtual box installation. I had this problem previously with and Ubuntu packaged version. The rdesktop client was missing. Well I tried running VirtualBox on a Windows box (with no button) and the CMS and 2 Atlas tasks running immediately stalled, the Vbox manager window never appeared either. Shut Boinc down and decided to upgrade VBox to 4.3.30 and restart Boinc. The 3 stalled tasks starting running again but still no VM Console button, Vbox manager happily ran as well. I can believe that I may need to re-install the extension pack to make it work. However the older box (Windows) has had numerous Vbox and Boinc updates in order to try and make Beauty work (guessing those guys have gone on holiday for a couple of months) but not once have I re-installed the extension pack and the box still shows the VM Console button ! Haven't got time at the moment but will do the rounds updating everything to the latest version and see what mayhem that brings. |

Yes, the extension pack must match the VBox version. Fortunately they are small to download and quick to install. |

Okay, I checked around and got the Feeling, CMS should work and do something usefull now ? Re-Enabled CMS, downloaded latest files and started. So far, so good. Inside the VM nothing usefull seems to happen. I can go to console3, but most of the time it is idle, the %CPU is 0.3 up to 1.3 with TOP or INIT Runtime is now 1 hour and 15 minutes, but nothing real is Happening. If I go through the consoles 1 - 10, I see nothing that geives me the Feeling of crunching. What can I do / What shall I do ? EDIT: Windows 7, VB 4.3.12 |

OK, it looks like there are no jobs in the Condor queue. I'll try to submit more, but I'm a relative novice at this. Give me at least 30 minutes... [Edit] Wouldn't you know it? A one-hour scheduled intervention on the server started an hour ago... Need to wait for that to finish. [/Edit] |

Right, looks like there are jobs in the queue -- not sure how long they'll last! |
