I been gliding around for a while, now swooped out of a cloud and grabbed some jobs.

The time stamps are PDT !

Didn't they used to be UTC ?

I think some versions used NTP to get the time, this one doesnt bother.

As far as i can tell, the logs are local time, because they are generated at your machine.

No, they are being stamped as PDT.

Guess the time doesn't matter much in the experiment, probably takes too long to check your watch and then shine the torch on the bits of dust getting hit and then back to the watch to get a good reading.

The good news is that Laurence and Hassen are picking up clues from the logs. Given that it's gone 23:30 CET (I presume they're at CERN...) that's a laudable dedication -- we're now picking up details that I'd only expected to find in another run tomorrow.
And thanks to you guys for creating the data for us to analyse.

...and props also to Andrew who just chimed into the analysis from RAL. Rust never sleeps? Physicists never sleep!

That's the case here. Timestamps are BST (British Summer Time)

Odd, summer was the day before yesterday...

Right, yesterday was thunderstorms, two inches of rain just down the road at Heathrow.

My unmetered internet time starts in half an hour so I'll put another

Around lunchtime, IIRC. A good site for this is http://www.blitzortung.org -- if you don't speak German, it basically translates as "lightning location". If there is local activity, turn on the sound and enjoy!

It gets worse, the rest will start up at 0100BST. (Cheap electricity time starts)
although they don't all run CMS.

I think you mean 'cheaper' !

The only cheap electricity is when you stand outside in a thunderstorm with a big metal pole to harvest the lightning strikes.

You're right there.

But not there, methinks.
