Post: My CPU is perfect and I check it on Task Manager. I can see the consoles on the CERN Challenge but not on the other BOINC projects. On VLHC@home I see the charts, on CMS-dev I see the logs, on Atlas@home I see nothing. I have only Microsoft software on this PC and don't want any antivirus, since I only connect to BOINC servers. Post: I have only Windows Defender and I asked Microsoft to notify before installing any update that requires a reboot. But Windows 10 Home edition which resulted from an update of 8.1 has the habit of rebooting without any reason, and this often causes the Virtual Machines to go into Powered off. I then have to restart them manually and if they go in the Unaccessible state I abort them. Tasks with shorter duration like Atlas@home are less affected. This and the fact that RDP does not exist on Windows 10 Home edition while it existed on 8.1 makes impossible to see the consoles (but I see those of the Challenge)so I am flying blind most of the times. I see the two consoles on the Challenge tasks using Databridge and I see the charts on standard vLHC@home, nothing on Atlas@home. I used to see all on Windows 8.1 provided by HP, then Microsoft "updated" my Windows and all went down the river. Tullio |

The nest day he phoned: your computer does not work. But what have you done? we asked him. I typed "diskformat" he said. Post: Since I cannot see the consoles, because my Windows 10 Home edition has no longer RDP, which I used to have in 8.1, I don't know what is going on. The only thing I see is a CPU usage in Task Manager which is very variable, going from 0 to 20%, while both ATLAS@home and vLHC@home maintain a stable rate of about 17%. The CERN Summer Challenge uses 44% because it runs on two cores of my 4 core A10-6700 AMD CPU. Tullio |

Post: WBox 5.02 does not yet work in Windows 10.So I cannot install it. Also Firefox is giving me problems. Windows 8.1 was OK and I could go back to it within a month from the date of installation. When I get bored with Windows I shall install SuSE Linux. There is a new version coming called 42.1(?) and I will wait until then. Cheers. Tullio |
