Thanks!

It is the php web server that dies. Caused by a test server release upgrade on this node. Looks like several of the php-generated pages are broken. We are investigating.

We have upgraded the MySQL database for LHC@home dev. If there should be any unexpected errors, please feel free to report,

The MySQL database for LHC@home-dev has been upgraded to MySQL8. Normally this should not affect any of the functionality of the BOINC applications.

The LHC@home dev server has been upgraded to server release 1.2.1. (in practice it was running this code already, but now the project has undergone the usual server upgrade process.)

We have updated the lhcathome-dev server code to the latest BOINC server release, 1.1.

Please let us know if you should spot any new bug or unexpected behaviour.

Sorry, we had a temporary fix that was overwritten by our automated configuration. Now the fix has been defined in the proper place.

However, there are other GDPR features in the code that we have enabled in our configuration, but at least for me, it does not work as expected, the login and registration screens are like before.

Is that the use of 'I'm not a robot' using Captcha ( completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart).
I hate captcha's.

No, the expected features are on user consent etc.

The Captcha stuff is something we have on our production project to avoid spammers.

Thanks for the feedback.

I did a test account creation and deletion, it worked fine for me. The server sent a link to the email address of my test account that I had to validate before deleting the account.

However, there are other GDPR features in the code that we have enabled in our configuration, but at least for me, it does not work as expected, the login and registration screens are like before.

We have updated our development server to the latest BOINC server release.

Please let us know if you spot any issues.

The server may go down for a while if we need iterations on this.

The Sixtrack assimilator is deliberately not started on the DEV project, as we are testing the HTCondor BOINC gateway here, that should take care of bringing back the results.

Test gone well so far. Thanks to you all!

We'll have a temporary stop in the supply of tasks to modify the storage back-end.

@MAGIC: The only reason why we direct our temporarily idle hypervisors (Agile Boincers) here is to be able to load-test our new storage back-end with ATLAS load before upgrading our production environment. Under normal circumstances, cluster backfill at CERN is done outside BOINC, as such nodes can handle data-intensive analysis and other work than simulations.

Your contributions and notably alpha and beta testing are very much appreciated, and help us to reach more volunteers on a wider range of OS.

I suggest to continue the discussion on Windows and ATLAS under the "ATLAS application" forum.

These in-house cores are only available temporarily when there is no analysis jobs going on. So we are more than happy for contributions from all of you! The more capacity we can get, the better :-)

Now we recommend to keep connected to the regular LHC@home, as this dev project can be erratic.

For information: We have increased limits pr. host on the dev project as part of a campaign to test our new storage backend.

Expect most new ATLAS tasks to be pulled by our local cluster hosts and the LCG cluster in Bejing. But there are tasks for other applications too for those interested. There might be interruptions too, as this is our development and testbed. :-)

There will be some interruptions on the dev project this week while we test a new BOINC version and migrate to another host.

Stay tuned for the final version! :-)

We are planning to update our web presence for LHC@home and in this context we got a couple of proposals for a new LHC@home logo from our graphics team.

Continue to use the current logo: in extended and compact form.

    Alternative new logo 1:

    Alternative new logo 2:

Please vote your preference among the logos on this Doodle poll page.

Please note that this is work in progress, and that these images may be adjusted. Also if you have other proposals of your own, please do not hesitate to comment and display/link alternatives here in the forum. :-)

Many thanks in advance for your help and feedback!
